How Yoga Teacher Training is Shifting Online by Lisa Ware Yoga 4 Love
The online yoga teaching world is shifting very quickly due to this pandemic. How are you implementing change in how you show up online?
Offering Yoga Training online is NOT just video chatting with your students. This must have a strict curriculum, as with any collegiate level course. It must have accountability, a grading platform and hands on hours which are supervised (video or otherwise) by a 500 RYT, plus student teaching, demo/assisting and a student internship. These are all a MUST to keep the credibility and integrity of the teachings, all while offering it in a new and virtual way. There will be many creative ways to reach students, some will be effective, some will be really poorly produced, and sad for the student who doesn’t know what they are signing up for!
The program that is offered by each school must be upheld with the utmost integrity from each individual Director. We cannot depend on a particular “outside organization” to keep the integrity of the ancient teachings. Most corporations are mainly concerned with their bottom line. As yoga teacher trainers and school directors, it is up to us as a community to keep the credibility and the lineage intact through this shift in how the teachings are transmitted.
I believe we are bringing yoga to the 21st century, and at Yoga 4 Love we have it in our Mission Statement. We as RYT 500 and ERYT 500 Teachers, and those with Mastery of 9-10K hours of teaching, it is those of us who must bring the lineage and the wisdom with us as we transition into this Ascension. We are the keepers of the knowledge and it is our duty to make sure these teachings stay true, no matter how they are learned.

- You will need a device that connects to WiFi, our entire course is available 24/7/365 online, and you are assigned a personal Orientation Coach and group chat for the women that are doing the training with you!
- Next, you will receive a personalized program that fits your time, budget and goals. The details of the Agreement will be emailed to after you sign up. You will login to the course online.
- Maximum number of participants, no limit, Start Dates are intermittent throughout the year, and we are opening our program up to more participation.
- Course/Non-Course hours: 200 RYT, 500 RYT, 200 CYT, Reiki Certification, Virtual Inner Goddess Retreats, Hands On Hours are virtual and through video chat, course material consists of 6 modules, Fast Track 6 months, Slow + Steady 12 months for the 200 Hour. 500 RYT 10 months FT or 20 months SS track.

- What is the potential impact on yoga and the yoga industry? I feel that people need to be reached where they are at, the days are over of having to do a rigorous schedule of teaching or taking classes at a location, taking an entire weekend a month or even more, a whole month to immerse in these types of training. With this approach people are forced to find childcare, travel, pay for expenses and so many other obstacles which are preventing them from reaching their dreams. With the ability of the program to be in someone’s home we can bring to them their teacher training in a credible, reputable and interactive format. All this needs to happen without compromising any of the fundamentals, integrity or values of a traditional style yoga school.
